How to let YouTube videos load faster when you already have fast internet?

  • I have a 30 download and 15 upload connection with FIOS (just checked with a few speed test sites)... but over the last few days the videos I usually check out on YouTube are loading EXTREMELY slow. I usually set videos on 720 or 1080 when available and they load instantly.. now all the videos on even 360 or 480 resolution are stuck buffering and don't even think about 720 or above! Is this a YouTube problem or is this something I can fix with port forwarding etc. Thanks!

    Most likely a youtube problem. Internet connection speeds are dependent on more than just your ISP speed. Some of the most popular youtube videos are hosted in more places allowing you to get maximum speeds downloading these. Other less watched videos have to stream from their main hubs, slowing things down quite a bit depending where you live. Try testing to see if you can quickly download a 1080p video that is popular and see what happens.

This is probably a youtube problem. I used to have a fast internet speed on youtube. I used to set the videos on the highest definition possible, but now the youtube servers are even more clogged up than ever. However, just to be absolutely sure, try scanning for a virus, and uninstalling and deleting stuff you don't need, want, or use.
