I want to make a YouTube contest...?

I've seen a lot of YouTube contests and it looks kinda fun. I would like to hold one (a horse-related one) but I don't really know how. So do I just make a video that describes the contest and the contest rules? and how long should it run? does there have to be a prize, and what should the prize be? i already have a YouTube account and i've uploaded tons of videos before, so i know how to do that. i just don't want to try to run a contest and end up looking like an idiot haha ;) thanks!

Just make a video announcing the contest and the rules. anyone who watches your video, and wants to will make a video, and probably post it as a video responce..
