Will Youtube Count My Video As Copyright?

If i make a video on youtube and i add a song and its longer than 30does it count as copyright if it automatic?

  • i uploaded a video and i put a video up and i dont know if i made a copyright infringement but youtube automatically says buy this song o iTunes or amazon please help and is there any thing i can do to help it.

  • Answer:

If you did not personally compose the music and lyrics and perform the song and make the recording then you do not own the copyright and you need a license from those who do. Uploading is a form of "electronic publication", which infringes the rights of the copyright owner, even if nobody views what you have done. You can be immediately sued in US federal court for up to $150,000, whether or not the copyright owners notify YouTube of your violation (they're not suing YT, so they have no obligation to notify YT that you have violated the law and you have violated the YT terms and condition). It doesn't matter if your "song" was fifteen seconds or three minutes: you need a license to publish it. You can, in fact, obtain a license for a whole catalog of music from ASCAP, BMI or SESAC.
