How do you upload videos on YouTube?

I would like to upload videos to Youtube, but not sure how...?

  • I have a Samsung SC-MX20 Digital Memory Camcorder and I have a docking station on my computer to load the videos. When I plugged the Camera onto the docking station all of the video files popped up in SVG format. I am able to play them on my computer. So I signed up for an account with YouTube and tried to upload the videos and it wouldn't work. It would try to upload it, then after several minutes had passed it would say the program is not responding... Do I have to convert the video into a new format? And if so what do I need to do that? I feel so naive! and it is frustrating, I got this Camera because I thought that it would be easy to upload the videos to You Tube. So if you have any input at all please help me! I just want to be able to share my videos. Thanks

    Uploading Your Videos to YouTube Once you're happy with your final result, you'll need to save the video in a format that YouTube can accept in order to upload. Unless you're a professional video producer, we recommend that you save your videos as either Quick Time .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG files - these are the most common formats and they work well within our system. We specifically recommend the MPEG4 (DVIX, Xvid) format at 640x480 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better on YouTube. It looks like you will need to convert them to the correct format for youtube to upload them can recommend ConvertXtoDVD or try to google some freeware that can do it for you,good luck,Mick!

Ensure the file format is correct before uploading to youtube... Using windows movie maker -- you have to save it into the proper file format, that is "wmv" file (use the "save movie file" on the menu at the top left) before upload.. The WMV file will be smaller in size but still quite good quality.. so uploading it will be faster. also some movie maker version requires to be published instead of save... for that, press "ctrl-p" to publish or search&select a publish option from the menu at the top of the program window. --for best editing.... use windows movie maker (included in your windows machine)... it can help you make beautiful slideshow or video clip(e.g. mixing your songs with pictures/video/etc).... then save it as video file such as wmv file format... finally upload. or .. Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker to create new masterpieces.... this will help you.... Use 'zillatube'. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way. Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more. It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mp3/mpg videos with windows movie maker... save your file as wmv and then upload. It works very well....just google search for "zillatube" =============================♥♥♥

You need to change the format to mp4 or 3gp or something like that :)

You have to save the video to YOUR computer first. THEN you can upload. However youtube does not let you upload anything that's over 10 min.
