How will i make a edited video in YouTube?

Help uploading my video to YouTube? Why's the file so huge?!?

  • I'm entering a music video for Strawburry17's contest but I can't upload my video. It's only a couple seconds over 3 minutes but it's 7.6GB for some reason? I edited it on Sony Vegas 8 and when I rendered it I just did the default because I tried another one and it came out messed up. Anyway it's now a 7.6GB file which is freaking nuts because a movie's less than that :L The camera quality's okay I guess but it's not awesome and there aren't any special effects in the video :/ I tried to compress it but it messed it up so I can't do that... I really need to upload it to YouTube before Thursday because I'm going away and the competition finishes when I'm away but it's uploading right now and it's gonna take 2739 minutes which is basically two days -.- Why's the file so big? How can I make it smaller?

    convert the video to wmv with a converter website or any program you have installed like wmm. online it should stay HD if it is HD it will just make the file smaller and a file youtube is more familiar with.

Change the save settings to 720p or 1280 x 720 (same thing) and render again to wmv or mp4 format.
