Youtube won't recognize my email already has a youtube account - how do I fix this?

I had a youtube account I had not used in awhile. I receive an email from youtube itself telling me to change my password. I proceeded to change my password. When I tried to log in to this account, it acts as if the email does not have an account, and tries to get me to set up one. When I try to sign in using the username, it tells me to sign in only using the email account. This is a very frustrating loop. How do I undo this?

Hahaha what a fix!!! YouTube can be veery confusing!!! My advice is, make a new mail account with a new YouTube account. If u haven't used it in a while, there's no harm, is there?
