Answer:
OK! Any Camera that shoots 480p (that's a resolution) is good. If you're surfing youtube and see at the bottom of videos "360p" it means that you are watching it in a low quality. 480p is the youtube standard, 720p and 1080p are High definition. Ask about camera resolution anywhere they sell cameras. Canon and Kodak make good digital video cameras that work with any computer, any operation system. Which leads me to my next tangent: Operating systems are the base that your computer runs on. For example, Windows XP is an operating system. I use Snow Leopard on my Macs, and Windows 7 on my PCs. The free video software that comes with certain operating systems is different for each one. On a windows machine, it's windows movie maker, or windows LIVE movie maker. They are easy to use programs that handle pictures and videos, any size or resolution. Most youtubers use that program. On a Mac, the freeware is iMovie, or iMovie HD. iMovie HD is actually older, but is easier to use for beginners, so if you have a new mac, download it from their site, Apple.com The newer iMovie has no special effects like the old one, but is still easy to use and can do everything the Windows movie maker can do. Windows LIVE movie maker and iMovie both have "upload directly" options, so that you can log in right from the program and upload your video. In Windows Live movie maker, you can also choose the resolution, regardless of camera type. Since windows computers are cheaper than macs, the "any res" option is good for looking professional. Now, beyond the free softwares (though those two are not the only ones), you have expensive commercial software such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut (by the same people as iMovie!) and Sony Vegas. There are "Express editions" of these, which are cheaper and easier to use, but they miss out on certain modifications. Any express/elements editions would work perfectly. Now, before i fill your head with ideas of magical fires and special effects all over your screen, let me tell you the EASIEST way to get a video from your camera to your computer. DO you know what an SD card is? If your computer has a slot labelled "SD", than pull out the memory card on your digital camera and put it in the slot on your pc/mac/etc. Than, just go into "My computer" or "finder" and find the camera folder. Than just drag the video files onto your desktop, so they'll be ready for import! Here are some tips on how to get subscribers and views, to maybe become a partner and make free money for doing what you love! : Try adding a Subscribe annotation in your videos as a little reminder to your viewers http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?annotation_id=annotation_785417&add_user=ebob101 Use that link in a link annotation except replace the ebob101 with your channel name. ebob101 is my channel name. You can make yourself a youtube channel background to look more professional, try the dimensions 1600px by 2751px (the higher one being the height of course) As always, quality UGC is important. Try to be original in your videos. Play on cliches and try something new every now and again. One of the most important things, as always, is GOOD ACTING. Have someone other than you look over your acted videos once your done with them to tell you how you could improve. It's really important to not make people want to kill you when you make a video. As always, something as simple as filming a pet rolling around or slide-shows of beautiful nature scenes can go insanely viral. (Youtube Viral- to become popular quickly) You could also try an animation, made with software such as pivot. Also, try to play on a cliche, such as stereo-typical Ninja movies. Also, i made a music video called "Stalking Kitty" which is just my cat doing cute things to some home-made music. Everyone who sees it loves it, so maybe something like this would work for you. *takes a deep breath* ANYWAY, the point is, making a video is not that hard! Just do your best, and pick a program.
