How do you make .gif images of video clips?

Can someone help with my YouTube video making situation?

• I'm a new user to YouTube and I'm just learning how to make my own videos. I actually recently made my very first video, but with still images though. Basically I already know you have to use a movie maker program such as Windows Movie Maker. Then import audio, video, or pictures, and etc. into the program to make your video. I know you basically have to already have the audio, video, or pictures on a medium for e.g. your hard drive, flash, CD, and etc. then import that into Windows Movie Maker. Can you burn DVDs of TV shows and movies onto a hard drive, CD, flash drive and etc? Is that how a person creates their own original video using a movie maker program with clips from a TV show, movie, and etc.? Some of the YouTube videos I see have clips of shows that aren’t even officially released on DVD yet. Or does the person record a program off of TV with their DVD Recorder then upload the CD to their computer and use it in their movie maker program? My main goal is to create my own video with different scenes of a TV show and put the music I want in the background just like a lot of the videos I see on YouTube. Then I can upload my own original video to YouTube like everyone else. Can anyone please help me?

  you need a tv recorder card that connects pc to the tv for recording programmes. or.. get clips from other sites such as metacafe, veoh, .. or.. use a web cam and start recording something... or Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker(included in your windows machine) to create new masterpieces.... then save it as video file such as wmv ... finally upload. this will help you.... Use 'zillatube'. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way. Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 video formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more. It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mpg videos with windows movie maker. Ensure you use dvd conversion setting for better quality video. It works very well....just google search for "zillatube", and select the first search result for download...
