How do I make audio clearer in my videos?

How do people make the audio clear in their YouTube videos?

  • when people record themselves singing, how do they get the audio so clear? like do they record the audio and video separately and sync them together or do they use a sound board?

  • Answer:

yes some people record the video with them talking (first) and then they record what they said into a mic and then they sync it when they edit it.

Noise filters are generally applied to the audio track to get all the cracks, pops and background stuff out. Finally, compression and normalisation are used to balance the sound. Some people use equalisers to get the frequencies adjusted properly. I have a cheapie USB headset/mic combo that ends up with some noise in the background after I've recorded. I use SoundForge and Magix or Audition to clean up the audio. (Magix and Audition have noise filters that takes care of removing the noise. They're really good.) You can record audio and video together, but the audio has to be cleared up separately from the video. Then the two can be mixed together to create a final product.
