How do I get rid of featured video on upper right hand corner on youtube ? Firefox ?

I can ignore the featured videos that are on bottom which I also want to get rid of but ignorable. I really hate the one on upper right side. Everytime I search or do anything I will have to see those. The picture is also huge. I think it's one of the advertisement box so maybe I can get rid of it by installing firefox add on that gets rid of advertisements but I forgot where to download the add on and install. I'm not sure if it would work.
