What's the best free video editing software?

  • I just want opinions from all you people who've uploaded videos. Anything free and good, I'm going to start making vlogs (video blogs) real soon and I am willing to download any of the best free editing softwares to edit them. Any recommendations?

    Well the best free editors are: videospin: http://www.videospin.com/Redesign/ videopad: http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/index.html (those ones are easier to use) You could also try: lightworks: http://www.lightworksbeta.com/ trakaxpc: http://www.trakax.com/software/pc/ If you need to convert videos to different formats use freemake ( http://freemake.com ) its by far the best free converter. You can also use audacity for editing audio for your videos ( http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/beta_windows ). id recommend you get the lame mp3 encoder so you can export mp3s, and the ffmpeg codec so you can edit/rip audio straight from the video. Also why not get the plugins from that page too :P EDIT: @ ryan You say videospin is bad, but you recommend windows movie maker lol? Videospin is decent for being free. And wax is an competition effects software (like after effects), its not really a video editing software. Also wax can only be used on .avi files.

The best free video editing software to my opinion is Window Movie Maker VirtualDub ZS4 Video Editor Avidemux

First of all, Video Spin honestly is very bad. if you have a mac imovie is first choice. if you have a windows wax video-it is semi hard to use but has many effects and possible things to do including greenscreen and more customizable titles and effects. Windows Movie Maker is great for basic cutting and cropping videos and basic titles and effects for begginers. Also with more expensive non-free vidoe editers you can download the month free trial and when the month is up you can uninstall the editer and redownload the free trial. i do this for vegas pro 7 ;).
