How does youtube's view counts work?

So, I'm trying to reach 500 for my video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssIZeYyGxyg) and I kept on reloading the page over and over, but, why can't the view's counts raise up? Can anybody help me and tell me how does youtube's view counts work?

Answer:
The counter works simiply by increasing with each view, updating every couple of hours if the view count is high. If you've been trying to make the view counter go up by repeatedly refreshing the page, you're trying to artificially inflate the view counter, which is a violation of youtube's guidelines.
