What video site is everyone switching to now that Youtube has become anti-freedom of expression?
-
Youtube is deleting all AMV's and anything that has any mainstream artists' song in it. This is BS and no its NOT copyright infringement, copyright law used to say that a media that was changed was media that belonged to you (like the guy who did the Obama posters), but the record companies got together and lobbied to get the laws changed so that now they can license even the slightest mention of the song, corporate-whoring that's hurting freedom of expression. So what site is everyone migrating to now that allows users to express themselves without copyright-bullying?

Answer:
obeying the law doesn't qualify as anti-freedom of speech. the conclusions you've reached are somewhat dimwitted. it's not up to youtube what to remove and what to keep. if somebody has the copyright to a song or movie and and they ask youtube to remove the copyrighted song or movie, the law dictates what youtube has to do.

I have video's posted right now hopefully they won't be erased. What I think you probably did was said something silly on youtube, and someone keeps reporting you!
It is becoming a real issue. I have seen 40 year old songs taken off. I think this could get worst before it gets any better. I know artists have copyrights and don't want any one else getting credit for their hard work. Maybe something can be worked out. I know we all enjoy our music. I saw some videos with people doing just their own humming.
The first amendment does not mention "Fair Use". This is defined elsewhere in the law books. Specifically, "Fair Use" applies to using PART of an artist's work - that's the key. So, say you are writing a movie review - you are allowed to quote a few lines from the movie. That is Fair Use. You are not allow to reprint the entire script. That is copyright infringement. Educational institutions are granted even further leeway, for educational purposes. The point is, it's hard to talk about something if you are too restricted in quoting it, and so "Fair Use" grants you enough slack on copyright to talk about an artist's work. Taking some artists song, the entire song, and using it as the sound track to some video you've compiled goes beyond fair use. I can rip the audio track out of your video and, viola, I now have their song.
Recording companies are greedy motherf**kers who are so greedy that they don't realize that you're promoting their music. You probably won't find a website that'll let you do that. If you create your own site and post the video, don't be surprised if they threaten to sue you. EDIT: Try only doing a clip of the song. I think clips are okay, but the full song isn't. EDIT: there was this one video that got taken down of a guy dancing almost exactly to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". I think it was taken down because he had the original video and him side by side for comparison, but still!
Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. ============ It doesn't give you the right to use someone else's work (in whole or in part) without paying for it. Good luck finding another site that allows wholesale copyright infringement! Every person who signed up on YouTube agreed to abide by the TOS rules... it's the users who are causing their own problems. BTW - the word FAIR doesn't even appear in the Constitution.
