How to upload a video on the Internet?

How does watching video affect your download/upload limit with Wildblue internet service?

  • I am very confused on how video watching is really monitored with Wildblue. I have the cheapest pack. I was told to avoid streaming video and music. So that to me meant no more (or very, very sparingly) youtube. I was told that I'd have a limit of 25 minutes of streaming per month before the internet would have a major slowdown. That's fine and all but... I've reached my Download max yet my internet is just as fast as ever. What is going on? Did I avoid my favorite site for nothing? My bother continuously watched videos without having running into a major slow down. So what's the deal? Does streaming video affect the Upload instead? (Which is at 41% currently.) Or is it that I have to max out both before the internet slows down? Does the 25 minute limit mean nothing? It's very aggravating having to avoid video. I know it's still limited but how am I supposed to keep track of something like streaming video? I'd love to be able to still watch videos even if I have to keep an eye on my limit. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me out.

  • Answer:

Urmmm, the 25 minute bit sounds wrong. I mean how would they know the quality (240p/360p/480/ect) your streaming? 2 things to do. First google [free download gadget], then find one (there's heaps) to moniter your down/up load data rate. Second, if you change to 240p when watching youtube, you'll save on your data usage. Don't know what browser your useing, but do look into [add blocking add ons] Hope this helped.
