When should I apply for a youtube partnership?

  • I am unsure when I should apply for the partnership program. I run a channel called 'ReptileDubstep' where I upload royalty free/uncopyrighted music everyday. I started Feb 6, 2012 and have gained over 150 subscribers (gaining 50 the past few days and rapidly rising). I have 61 uploaded videos. I currently have 13K video views and am reaching 1K views everyday. This has been constant over the last several days. I was accepted for monetization soon after I started the channel and I communicate with my subscribers using the video comments, Facebook and Twitter. Again I use music that isn't copyrighted and have confirmation with the artists/record labels to ensure I can use their music commercially via email. When should I apply? Should I wait or should I dive straight in? I realise there is a 2 month waiting time to apply again, so ideally, I want to be accepted first go. I also realise that there is a more acute chance that I'll be accepted because I'm a music channel.     Well normally they contact you (well that is what happened to my brothers friend) and he only had about 3000 overall views. Hehad been uploading for a few months when partnerd which shows youtube he was committed for partnership. How long have you been uploading bcuase to me it sounds like a few weeks tops so i would suggest carrying on for another month or two and if they dont contact you then apply. And he also only had about ten subscribers. Thought that might help too.

Generally speaking; 160 subscribers and just over 13,000 views is not going to get you partnership. I advise you wait until you get a minimum of 1,000 subscribers. Doesn't matter if they're active or not, you just have to steadily upload videos, and get views. Try to upload at least once per two weeks, and get approximately 500 video views per upload before one weeks time.

Wait until you get 2k subscribers and make sure your subs are active.

For joining youtube partnership you should have above 2000 subscribers!
