What are the best settings for uploading to YouTube?

Why does my YouTube video still look terrible?

  • I have a music video nearly 5min long, but it doesn't matter what settings I use when I transcode it, my video always appears highly pixelated and blurry when I upload it on YouTube, while it appears fine on my PC. The original settings for the video before I transcode it using Handbrake or Super are: AVI uncompressed 640x480 square pixels 4:3 25fps Wav audio I've tried the following suggested settings when I transcode the video: MP4 h.264 320x240 4:3 Same frame rate as source video ACC audio 44100 128kbps stereo Have tried making the video 15MB, 99MB, even 1G, but neither size makes the video look any different on YouTube. Some people have suggested trying the original resolution of 640x480. I have tried this, but my video looks no better on YouTube. I've also tried editing my video on another computer and then uploading it on YouTube from that computer, but all of that made no difference whatsoever. What am I doing wrong? Do I need a better compression progam such as Sorenson? If someone could help me, I would really appreciate it.

Videos on YouTube need to process. They start blurry, then over time the image becomes better and better. Normal process time for HD videos can be around 24-48 hours. So upload the original video with original settings, wait a day or two, and it should be fine. Cya.
