Why won't PDFs open in Google Chrome?

Google Chrome and Adobe Reader problems! Need help!?

  • So I need Adobe Reader in order to view files for an online course I'm taking. My browser is Google Chrome and I really don't want to have to change browsers. Also I'm on a Mac (Mac OS X Version 10.6.6 if that helps) and so I installed Adobe Reader from Adobe's website and I still can't view the PDFs I need for school. I need to be able to view them in-browser. A lot of the places told me to type "about:plugins" in my address bar and to Disable the "Chrome PDF Reader" and to Enable "Adobe Reader/Acrobat" but I don't see any Adobe or Acrobat plug-in there AT ALL! I've already installed Adobe Reader/Acrobat and everything. Even re-downloaded and re-installed just to make sure. I really need to be able to view PDF's in browser on my Mac using Google Chrome. Big props to whoever can help me out! Thanks!
