How to add new contacts in Gmail?

Best way to add contacts to gmail?

  • About a year ago, Google removed the option to automatically add contacts to gmail. Now it seems the only way to add them is to cut and paste. I've tried searching for an easier method or an app that increases this functionality but all the instructions I found reference back to before Google remove the option. It is no longer found in "More Actions - Add sender to Contacts list". I realize there is the option to have a "suggested contacts" list which is created when you send a person an email, but this doesn't help with adding someone who has only sent you an email. I might want to add a person as a contact but I'm not ready to immediately send them an email. Or I might never want to send a person an email but want to have them as a contact to remember their birthday or something like that. Does anyone know of an app that gives you more control of your Google contacts? It doesn't even have to be free. Thanks.

Sorry I don't know of one of hand. Would love to help you cuz I know your feeling and have been in your spot right now. I would always check the "Labs" part in Gmail. Just go to Settings and click on the tab titled "Labs" and then sift thru there and see if it's an option to add back onto Gmail. Good luck! :)
