I Wanna Publicize My Website!!!?

I have a Website and I have also published the site. But as there are not many people knowing its URL, and as there are very few visitors, I want it to be displayed by Google, so that whenever people search the particular topic over Google, they get a link to my site. How and where do I request Google for this. It'll be great if you could give me some link on google.... Also can you suggest me some other ways to publicize my site. Thanks in advance!!! :-)
