How do I hide a message I am sending?

Can you hide the fact that you are sending a BCC message?

  • I want to send a mass email to my contacts list, but I do not want to show that I am sending them as a bulk. I am aware that if I use BCC the receivers will not be able to tell whom else I sent the email to. However, they can tell that they were one of the BCCs (If they read the "To" area in the details) rather than an email directed at them. It would be great, if I could do this with a gmail extension of some sort. Thank you very much.

  • Answer:

You don't need to. The whole point of BCC is that the addresses don't get attached to the delivery header. They can tell they where BBC because they aren't included in To or CC. All you need to do it stick a false mailing group into the To or CC field. E.G:- To: [email protected] CC: Everyone BCC: [email protected] You'll get a mail failure when it tries to send to the CC address, but that doesn't really matter.
