Google Analytics help?

Help with installing Google analytics on multiple domains please?

• Hi, I have a number of domains that I want to track with Google analytics, and at first I foolishly thought I could use the same code for all my sites. When I went to create a profile for my second domain it gave me a code and I could see that the only difference was that the second code ended in 2 instead of 1. It would appear therefore that all I have to do is just change the last number in the code for each domain name. So if this is correct, should I (a) copy and paste the original code into all of my sites and just change the last number each time, and then create the profiles for each domain after? Or (b) Create the profiles first, get the tracking code for each one and then copy and paste it to each site? Or (c) A better way of setting it up for different domains? Reason I ask this is because I did (b) and my account says that analytics isn't installed even though it is ( and I know it's in the right place). So I would be most grateful if some one could give me instructions on the way the right way to set up Google analytics for different domains using the same account please. Many thanks
