What is the best way to get media content on Google?

• I am in the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) industry and am speaking at a conference about the best ways to get media content picked up by Google and other major search engines. It seems like the search engine algorithms are constantly changing so I would like to discuss some new trends that seem to work best. My audience are media outlets (television, print, radio) who would like their content better positioned on Google. They are journalists, media professionals, educators and students working from within the news industry. They have an intermediate level of SEO and know some of the basics of how to get their stories broadcast online so I'd really like to focus on new ways to get their content better circulated on the Internet. If you have any SEO tips or tricks for such media websites to get their content better noticed on search engines, please let me know. Any advice from basics to new trends are welcome. Thank you!
