When does Google page ranking come out?

How come when I click a site from google's search results it directs me to another page!?

  • I have a anti virus software which I ran and it said I had a threat but I removed it. I don't know why this is still happening! My firewall is on and I delete cookies n stuff. What could it be?!?

  • Answer:

Google redirects are mainly caused by rootkit or trojan infections. Basically a trojan infects your computer and redirects your search results away from Google, Yahoo and others, to websites affiliated with the trojan makers. If your antivirus is unable to pick up the infection, you can try the free trojan removal service offered by MalwareGeeks.com, link below. http://www.malwaregeeks.com

This is probably viral. Run the PC in Safe Mode and do all your virus checks. My previous answers have been recommended as best answers. This is a common response to this type of question:- Boot the computer into Windows Safe Mode by pressing F8 about once every second during startup. Now download and run the Windows Defender application. Run your updated antivirus. Download Spybot (free version available) from www.spybot.com Run Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de or Malwarebytes from http://malwarebytes.org/ Run a registry cleaner. Now reboot and see what happens. This should have got rid of it. If not, then post a second question with details of what is infecting it. Jonah
