How to make a google voice call from PC to phone?

• I've tried to google this and I just can't find the answer. My fiancee is going overseas, and we are trying to figure how to use google voice so he can call me from his PC to my phone (we both have google voice on computers on on androids). When he uses the call phone option from his PC, it calls his phone first, then connects the call to me from his phone. I don't get it, the whole point was for him to call me directly from the computer, not have his computer call his phone, then call me from his phone. Where he is going he won't have phone service, just WIFI (so when his computer calls his phone to connect to me, it won't work). I read that people can use google voice, and in a way turn their laptop into phones, and speak directly to their computers microphone to the person on their phone. Sigh, I'm a technologicly stunted... Any help? Thanks :)

  If you both have computers with internet access, get Skype....it's not just for video calls, but also audio-calls...calls between Skype users is free.
