Why won't My bookmarks open?

Why won't google chrome save my bookmarks?

  • So, I have a lot of junk in my bookmarks bar at home. Before I left school, I saved all the bookmarks on my school computer to a USB, and took them down too my home computer. I deleted all my bookmarks there and used the import command in the bookmarks manager to bring them in through a Chrome HTML document. Now here's the thing. THE JUNK BOOKMARKS ALWAYS COME BACK and throw out the new bookmarks every time I restart Google Chrome. I have already tried A) deleting my cache, B) restarting my computer, and C) putting the new bookmarks next to the junk ones. Does anyone have a solution? I'll try just about anything!

Hi, Assuming you are using windows 7, here is how it goes, go to your appdata folder (its hidden), you could just type -->> %appdata% in your run command and in the folder, look for the folder named "Local", and search for the subsequent folder "Google". Once inside, open the folder chrome -> user data -> default . Here you will see bookmarks and bookmarks.bak file. delete it and then open your chrome and import the .html bookmark using the bookmark manager. Sometimes, if chrome has got installed in your "C" or OS drive, then search for the same folder I had mentioned in it. Hope it helps :)
