How do I disable "adchoice" animated ads?

  • My Yahoo homepage has a new addition. Adchoice ads that take up a huge portion of my screen and animated ads that take up a large portion of my memory slowing down the computer. How do I disable this function and eliminate this really annoying addition.

    If you click on the small Adchoice word on the lower right of the ad, it will bring up the Yahoo Privacy page. About 1/3 of the way down it asks "What choices do I have about what ads I receive." You can opt out. It actually works - who would have thought.

For chrome-- go to tools-- then click extensions-- type ad block in top left box-- Try the 2 or 3 ad blocks until you find the one that works, then disable the ones that don't. For Firefox--go to tools-- then click add-ons -- type ad block in the top box-- Try the ad blocks until you find the one that works-- then disable the the one that don't. For Internet Explorer I can't tell you exactly because I deleted it over a year ago. You would be able to figure it out because you start at tools and after that it almost the same as the other browsers.

if they're ads, use firefox and download adblocker plus. there's a list of preblocked ads, and if you hover your mouse over an ad, there should be and 'x' over the corner.

firefox + add blocker plus and you dont see any adds, also its more secure then IE
