Google talk plugin slowing down google chrome...how can i fix this?

everytime im on google chrome, after i while it starts going really slowly. so, i open up task manager and click on the "google talk plugin" (the description) and then i click end process and everything loads alot faster. The plugin usually hogs 70-98% of my CPU. Also, a few minutes later, this happens again. How can i fix it?

Uninstall Chrome and get Firefox. Clears it right up.
