Google Ad Words Help?

• Ok, I am new to ad words, but I always thought impressions were triggered by a auction system, highest bids with the highest relevancy got the top spots. So I bid on keywords for my market, (about 130) and bid like 20 cents. Now I realize that on a lot of keywords that I'll be outbid and not be in the top spot but I thought I'd show up somwhere? There are some of my keywords that when search the words they have absolutely no adword ads on the page, so why doesn't google display my 20 cent ad, why would it rather have nothing? I must be missing something or do not understand something. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott

  Hello Scott, You must be using 1 word keywords. example: "dating" You should use keywords with 2 or 3 words like "dating site" or "single people dating" (these are just examples) Google will scan these words even if the search is only one of these words. Your 20 cent bid could be too small, depending on what your main keywords are. Your ad will still show, but on page 3 or 4 or 5 and not alot of people search on page 3 or 4. For instance the keyword "sexy" to show on 1st page will cost around $6 (yes 6 dollars) My advice is to try to find the most unique keywords that will produce searches to your site, keywords that other sites would not use. Sometimes you can even try some misspellings or variations of a BIG keyword I hope im making myself clear.
