Why doesn't my computer alert me of new e-mail?

Gmail problem? it doesnt make any sense...?

  • Ok i have 2 computers in my house, the other day i sent an email with computer 1.Throughout the day i regularly checked my email using my other computer and i hadnt got a reply nor did i say i ever sent the message. The next day i used the computer i used to send the email to check my email and i had gotten a reply and it shows that i sent the email. My other computer when logged into my gmail still doesnt show the reply i received or anything,is this common?

  • Answer:

Hello, No not particulalry, if you using webmail it should show in both, if you are using a email client, such as outlook or thunderbird, it will only pull of new messages, so if you client on computer 1 pulls it first, computer 2 will not pull this email as it was already marked as read. If you are not using a email client, I suggest you flush you dns, Start-->Run-->cmd and type ipconfig /flush dns and press enter. You may also want to clear your browser history.
