Go to www.download.com and get the GOM media player. I use it, it's pretty impressive. The audio equalizer could be a little better, but for the average user, it wouldn't make much of a difference.

It's also only 4.9mb making it easy to download, and load straight up. It includes a playlist, subtitle track (if there is one) and audio track (if there is one.) I use Windows Media PLayer - I love it, mainly because it's fast - well, mine is. You don't have to use my idea as there are plenty of other answers =DD
