Can't change youtube name because of google?

So I just created a youtube account which is actually a google account but now I can't change my name?? They say that I have to use my real name to make a google account so I did, but then my real name is displayed in public every time I use youtube?? I don't want to use my real name on youtube but it won't let me change. I tried everything but I can't cant change my youtube account name because its associated with my google one. (I know my question's confusing but I don't know how to explain)

It isn't confusing. Common knowledge that you can't change the name.
