How stackoverflow maintains the number of views per post?

On my MYSPACE Profile Views it changes from a number of views then decreases ?

For example today it says I had 24 views. I come back now it's @ 23, then 22 after saying I had 24 views. It should either stay at 24 or rise to 25,26,27. What is wrong w/t my myspace profile viewer?

Contact Tom @Myspace. Report the glitch that you are experiencing. I have personally experienced that glitch several times. I have read that the myspace profile views counter is not accurate. It just gives you an estimate on how many views you may have had that day.

Well I figured out that if you view your own profile it decreases by how many times you see it. For example I had 1,365,035 one day and then i refreshed it and it said 1,365,030 its because I went and viewed my profile 5 times.
