Myspace processing photos?
-
I'm curious if myspace and similar sites process the photos you upload? After editing my photos with photoshop with sRGB ICC profile saved in JPG format at max quality I upload to myspace. I notice the quality is not as good, and it seems more brighter? Is it the way I'm saving or is this how myspace processes photos?

Answer:
it will appear brighter on the internet in general. what you need to do is "save for web & devices" in photoshop. it takes you to this big pop window and then in the dialog box there's all kinds of options for saving. there's a check box for "save in sRGB".. click it obviously lol. then there's a drop downbox with file types like "png" "gif" "png 24" personally i save with png 24, the colors are a bit brighter. for you though: save as "jpeg" at "maximum" unless you want crappy photos. generally that's all you would need, but there are other options for metadata, color profiles. if your fairly familiar with photoshop then feel free to mess with the settings as you need to. i've had this problem too with pics on myspace and tinypic :/ but its just a harsh cross over with some image uploaders. when you "save for web" it will appear just as it shows in the preview window.
