My internet keeps freaking out?
-
I have a windows vista home premium, comcast internet... several times a day, my internet will not work, though my taskbar will still show the icon of two screens and a little globe. skype will be shown as connecting and firefox is unable to connect with any page I try to go to. It will say Page Load Error, then say Network Timeout The server at [website] is taking too long to respond. The requested site did not respond to a connection request and the browser has stopped waiting for a reply. * Could the server be experiencing high demand or a temporary outage? Try again later. * Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection. * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing. * Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance. Try Again If I right click the icon in my taskbar and go to diagnose and repair, it simply says no problems were found, but I can temporarily fix the problem by right clicking the taskbar icon, going to network and sharing center, clicking view status, then diagnose, then reset the network adaptor. If this doesn't work, after clicking view status, I disable it, then right click the icon in my taskbar, diagnose and repair, and enable. This usually works, but only temporarily, and I would really like to permanently solve the problem. Also, when my internet does not work like this, there is more being received than being sent, according to what I see after clicking view status. My driver software is apparently up to date, too, as I just checked from view status to properties to configure to driver. I tried updating it and it said it was up to date. If any more information is needed for a solution, I'll post it, but go step by step as I've said everything I know and I'm likely to not have a clue what you're talking about if you talk too advanced. Please help as soon as possible, this is a very annoying problem.

Answer:
it sounds like your modem could be going bad and/or you could have a problem within the drivers for your NIC card or modem I would suggest first downloading the proper drivers for your nic card while you have internet connection and for your modem then deleting them completely and reinstalling if that doesn't work then your modem is most likely about to be dead and needs replacing.

Try going to command prompt and typing in the following: ipconfig /fllushdns ipconfig /renew I would give Comcast a call and see if your modem / router has a problem maintaining an active connection.
