Cant connect to yahoo or aim?

i can download and get onlinebut i can use things like AIM or YAHOO..this at my home i mind you..can someone help me?

do you have a firewall the ports used by these programs may be blocked you could try to use pidgin and see if you can get on yahoo and aim with that pidgin is a free program that allows you to get on almost any type of im all simultaneously http://www.pidgin.im/
