Why am I unable to open some links in Internet Explorer?

Can't Open Links On Internet Explorer?

  • I've came across a strange problem that is pretty annoying. When I click on a link and open a new window, the window will just say connecting and never actually load the link. However, when I hold down control and click on a link, it will open it fine in a new tab. But if I click on link that isn't in my internet browser, it will open a new window that won't load. Forcing me to either copy the link or type it manually. Fixes I've tried that didn't work: Typing in all of the following in start/run regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll regsvr32 Shell32.dll regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll regsvr32 Mshtml.dll regsvr32 Urlmon.dll None of those worked or made any sort of difference. Any help would be appreciated. I don't think it is any kind of virus either due to that fact I've got about 10 seperate anti-virus's. I've also de-fragged everything a few times. I ran combo-fix, and for the first time, that didn't fix it either. (If you don't have combo-fix, download it. Its the best.) Oh and somthing else. Alot of the time I'll open a link in a new tab and get a message saying somthing like "Oops google cannot display the webpage, the link may be broken" even though the link is clearly correct. (I've had it happen to me on a link to youtube.com)
