Why does this error message always show up in firefox?!?

What does this error message mean and what do I have to do to make it stop appearing? "Sync encountered an error while syncing:Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action" Then on the bottom right side, there is a sync now button. I tried pressing that button but nothing happens.
