Why do I get a blank page when downloading?

Internet Explorer downloading when im not downloading!?

• Whenever I open a page on Internet Explorer, or refresh the current page that I'm on, in the bottom left hand corner it will say that I am downloading a picture or other sort of file, and im hoping its not a virus. It happens on every website. How do I get it to stop downloading things???

  Heres a few things to try to fix your IE. Make sure IE is not opened.....go to start....control panel.....internet options (if you don't see Internet Options) click on view classic......with Internet Options open....you will see the page IE opens when it starts highlighted in blue.....right-click on the blue area and select Copy. Now go to the Advanced Tab and select RESET at the bottom....if you see a box to Check delete private data and such...put a checkmark there and select OK...it will then reset 4 areas...then select Close..... Now click on Internet Options again.....now paste your start-up page in the highlighted area....now go to the Programs Tab and click on Manage Add-ons......half way down the left column you will see "show" all add-ons....click on the down arrow and select "run without permissions" This is the area causing your problem....you will see a title then a list of features under each title...titles that are good are Microsoft...Java....Adobe.....Sun Microsystems....look for anything odd ...click on them and select disable. When your finished just close the window...open IE and it will prompt you with a few questions....it will be like new again and should work. Cheers
