Ipod touch mail?

How can I sync my Hotmail e-mail account with my iPod Touch?

I already have it set up so I can check my e-mails on my iPod Touch. Today I looked through my Hotmail e-mails on my computer and deleted some and read the others, but on my iPod I have to delete and read the messages again. Is there a way that if I read the e-mails on the computer, that it will show I've read them on my iPod? I just don't want to have to go through it twice, when I already deleted and read them. Thanks! Sorry if it's a bit confusing.
Answer:

You'll have to set both the iPod and the computer's email program to use an IMAP account. A POP3 account won't synchronize like that. (I don't know whether Hotmail allows IMAP.)
