Does Twitter send you an e-mail or text notification when some @mentions you?

I'm following them but they are not following me. I wrote....@UsersName and wrote a small tweet to them. I know it shows up in the users mentions tab but I'm talking about if Twitter sends some kinda notification via e-mail or text as well? I wanna make sure he will get it, cause he has over a thousand followers.

It depends on his account preferences on twitter. But if he has over a thousand followers I doubt that he will follow you back.

If the person doesn't have it set up in their settings to receive mention notifications then they want know until they check it manually.
