IP Server Log Question?
-
I Know when someone enter a Web-page, the Server creates a log of who visits the website, the IP address and such My question is, how longer the servers could keep those log files? Please no Troll Answers

Answer:
Depends, if its a large website visited by many people they wouldn't hold it for long because of prices. I'd say a small website with about 10-30 visits aday would keep the data for about 2 weeks

It depends on what you (the site or server admin) sets the log size too. You can keep 100mb log file if you want. Thats quite crazy though. When it hits the max size it deletes the oldest entrys first. Simaler to a user auditing log for folders and drive access
