What is the font that is like default on MSN?

What's the Default Font For Firefox?

  • I don't know how it happened, but the font on my computer was changed. Now the font is messed up. I use Twitter and the font of all the tweets is really annoying. The font is in the options menu is on Times New Roman and it is absolutely hideous. I've tried finding other fonts, but nothing looks right. Also, The News section and Trending Now box in Yahoo! is in the same font, and that's annoying as well. So what should I change the font back to in order for things to look normal? Thanks

  • Answer:

Times is supposed to be the default font, but that's not what your issue is. There are 3 types of fonts: Serif (with some extra embellishments on the letters), Sans-Serif (without those extra marks) and monospace (every letter is exactly the same size). Times New Roman is a serif font. Yahoo's home page specifies this for the text : 13px/1.231 arial,helvetica,clean,sans-serif This means that your computer will use Arial if you have it, Helvetica if you don't, Clean if you don't have either of those ,and then finally fall back on your browser's Sans Serif font. Since your computer should have Arial (it comes with Windows), that should be the font that gets used. Regardless, click on "Advanced" by the default font choice and make sure that Arial is the default Sans Serif font. Then, open up Fonts (in Control panel) and make sure that Arial shows up in the list. If you're missing Arial, a lot of things other than Firefox are going to look messed up.
