[HELP] Internet Connection Problem?

  • Hello. There is something wrong with the internet connection on both my family's computer and my laptop. When I tried to go on the internet on my family computer, it does not work. On the right bottom screen of the computer, you know where there is two computers and a globe attached, there is a yellow sign with an exclamation point on it... However, the internet connection works sometimes on my laptop, but the problem is, every time I tried to access a website, I would get: page loading problem, internet connection reset, server not found. I have to constantly keep clicking until the web page loads. I tried looking for a solution for the past two weeks now. I already checked device manager, went to network and sharing center, viewing status and setting it to obtain address automatically... I already tried to reset internet connection on CMD, unplugging cords from the internet cable box, restoring computer/laptop back to previous days, uninstallling network adapters and reinstalling them... - and on the laptop in viewing status IPv4 Connectivity says: Internet , but on the computer, it says: limited or local... Help? THANKYOU.

there is SO Much more stuff that needs to be looked at, but at this point based on available information & having to guess, since you didn't tell us HOW you and your lap top are connected to the internet, that you have a cable modem and a router. I would also normally as has it been this way from day one? or did it become this way at some point in time?, if the latter, what was that point in time? and what happened to you system that might've caused this? - squirrels biting the cable line? any other reason for a bad connection? ect. It could be the router went bad, or the cable modem went bad, or something happened to the cable between your house and the pole. I could be a problem with the cable companies "outside plant" - any part of the cable companies distribution system between their frame location and the pole serving your house. In your case, I would call the cable company and have them send a tech out to prove whether not you have a decent I-Net connection to your cable modem. If so then they can try to swap out the modem... if still a problem the router would be the next suspect. Also the Lan wire connecting the router to the modem. I would be suspecting stuff that is common to the desktop & the laptop.
