EVERY TIME I start Firefox 3.5.2 I have to re-enter the settings! WHY?

Every time I start firefox 3.5.2, a first run page comes up and so does a box named "FireFox Browser Settings." I choose the settings I want and expect them to stay, but each time I start firefox it comes up again, and as much as I click "DON'T ASK AGAIN", it always does! Any help on how the settings can save AFTER I close firefox? So I don't have to re-enter them when I start it again?

FireFox 3.5.2 is really not ready... Try these... clear all your cache, temp, cookies and ...... start browser and save settings. Not worked???? Uninstall FireFox 3.5.2 from system, clear the temp files and install FireFox3.5.2 with fresh copy... It works...
