Is using maximum bid on ebay a good idea?
-
is it better to just bid manually when you want to?

Answer:
Use your maximum bid with about 15 seconds left in the auction. If you use it early in the auction chances are you will be out bid.

A friend of mine wanted to put in a max bid of $64 but later realized he put in $640. Its ok if you don't make a mistake.
That would be your call. I hate bidding unless it ends within min of me wanting the item. I usually just buy it now or use Amazon (I love amazon)
I would recommend bidding lower than the highest, then bidding at the highest if you get out-bid. I hope I helped!
