How can can i connect on msn from an other website?

Firefox and IE can't connect to the internet, but Twitterfox can. Help?

  • I'm able to use the internet for a few minutes after I restart it - basically long enough to see I have new emails on iGoogle; however when I try to go to another website, Firefox can no longer connect to the internet. Thinking it was just Firefox, I tried using IE and encountered the same problem. MSN/Windows Live Messenger and Steam cannot connect to the internet as well. However, Twitterfox still functions; I can still receive and send tweets. The only thing I can offer that's fishy is when I ping my host and IP address (are they the same; I'm computer savvy but not that advanced), the request times out. When I ping other websites, such as Google, it's fine. I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition, Service Pack 3 (I think), and connect to the internet wirelessly. My other computer is hardwired and is working fine. I do have Norton Anti virus - could this be a firewall problem? I have tried turning it off to no success, but I know that Norton can be a tricky little bugger. A friend also suggested I flush my DNS cache, but to no avail. Could anyone offer any advice? It's been a few days since all this started, and it'd be fantastic to get some answers to such a weird problem!
