Is creating ebay layouts and selling them online legal?

• I had a bad experience a few years ago because I could not figure out how Ebay worked and I'm ready to try again. I plan on creating my own online store selling cards, so here are a few questions. Do sellers ever have to pay S&H? Should I make bids, or have a buy it now price? Should I make a reserve? Is it a lot harder to sell without a beginning Feedback rating? I plan on using Paypal, how does that work with Ebay? And lastly, How do I know when and where to ship the item I sold, and when they receive it?

  Hey Steven, Do sellers ever have to pay S&H? No, unless you offer free shipping. Should I make bids, or have a buy it now price? That depends on the type of cards you'll be selling. If they are HOT popular cards and you have rabid buyers out there you might want to offer them at a Buy it Now price. Otherwise you should go with the auction-style listings. Tip: eBay allows free listings of your first 50 auction-style listings per month. But they don't allow this for fixed-priced or Buy it Now listings. Should I make a reserve? Buyers HATE reserve auctions and will bypass them the majority of the time. The only time you should use a reserve auction is when you have an expensive item you're listing and you want to make sure you don't let it go for a meager price and take a loss. Is it a lot harder to sell without a beginning Feedback rating? Yes,because buyers see no track record and they are leery of sellers with low feedback. They always seem to think that sellers with little or no feedback are out to scam them so they bypass their auctions and go to someone else who might be selling the same thing but with a lot more feedback. I plan on using Paypal, how does that work with Ebay? You'll probably want to link your PayPal account up with your eBay account to accept payments from your buyers. This works smoothly because at the end of your auction, eBay sends a winning bidder notification to the buyer. This notification will include inside of it a PayPal button the buyer can click on to immediately pay for the auction he/she just won. The money then goes directly to your Paypal account where you can later withdraw the money by requesting they send you a check. Tip: I would try and get a verified PayPal account as soon as possible because they place restrictions on unverified accounts. Meaning they place limits on the amount of money you may withdraw per month. They also place limits on the amount of money you can spend or send to someone. With a verified account their would be no limits and you could sign up for PayPal's free debit card which would allow you to use it at any ATM to immediately withdraw any money that's in your account. How do I know when and where to ship the item I sold, and when they receive it? eBay will notify you via the email address you used to register. They'll include the buyers name and address and where they want the item shipped. As far as when they've received it, if you're shipping the item by using the post office, you can purchase something called Delivery Confirmation (costs like 35 or 50 cents) which will provide tracking of the package you shipped. You'll be able to call a 1-800 number that's on the delivery confirmation and receive the information you need to track it. You can also log on to a website that's also on the delivery confirmation receipt to track it that way too. You also can get verification in your back office called "My eBay" that the buyer has paid you and you get their shipping address. Hope this has been helpful!
