How do you add to a reblogged post on tumblr with your usernamed by what you've said?
-
I feel like a moron, but I've never understood tumblr. And I see all these reblogged posts where it has the comments from people going down, and each one is like their username, then a colon, and then there is a line below to what they said, and then the next one will have that line going in front of it, and the username, and a colon, and the line down to what THEY said. And I don't know how to do this. If I try, all that shows up is what I say, and then it's all just a mess, and i delete it, because I think it looks too confusing sometimes. >.< I mean, I suppose you can manually insert the link to your blog and put your username, but then, I can't get it into the same format, so it still looks sloppy, so I don't think that's what everyone else is doing, unless, there is some other trick to manually get it into the proper format too. And I know this is a confusing question, and i feel like an utter moron for even asking, but I just REALLY want to know. Here is a picture of sort of what I mean (not the whole thing, but enough to get the jist of it) that may explain it better than I could: http://i41.tinypic.com/5u378m.png But if you use tumblr, I think you know what I'm talking about. I'm sorry I'm a moron, and not tech savvy, I just really wanna know how to do that too. >.<

Answer:
You're not a moron, I got annoyed by this too. You see, it works like this: whenever you reblog something and add text to it, it won't show up with your url and a colon because YOU reblogged it. However, if someone sees what you've reblogged and they reblog the same picture (with or without adding something), THAT's when it shows up with your url and a colon. It does this because since you reblogged it, it's kind of obvious that you added the text. However, if someone else reblogs your stuff then tumblr tells the everyone who sees it"hey, _______ said this" I know it's kind of confusing, but hopefully you get it. Yes I agree that it should just show your url automatically, and unless you want to go through the trouble of doing it manually then you're stuck with this. :P
