How do you customize your Tumblr?

Okay so I have a Tumblr. I want to know how I can completely customize it. I want to be able to use whatever picture I want for the background, add music, and whatever you can do to Tumblr. I have no idea how to do any of this. I have searched youtube and the internet and have not found anything really useful. They show you how to change your theme, I already know how to do that. I want my own personal page not something that is provided already on the site, if that makes any sense. I really want to make my Tumblr my own. If you can help that would be great. and btw I use google chrome if that makes a difference. Thanks.
