How many mbps does Comcast internet have?

How fast is a 12 Mbps Internet connection?

  • I am upgrading to a 12 Mbps Internet connection speed with Comcast. How many megabytes a second is this? If I use my iPod touch 4g, how many Mb a second will I be able to download(I mean like apps)? I am upgrading from a DSL connection, approximently how much faster is this connection going to be. Thanks in advance.

    oh its gonna be really fast your apps should download in seconds you gonna see a big difference in the speed i have a 10 mbps internet and i can download 4 GB things in like an hour or so, Which on a diff connection it would take a pretty long time. they use high connections like this for businesses so you aint gonna have any problems really waiting on anything to download

dsl is capable of going just as fast so without knowing how fast your dsl was before there is no way to give you a good comparison. But 12mbps is about 1.5Megabytes per second. and with comcast, it won't always necessarily be quite that fast, but sometimes, it will be faster. I have 16mbps and have come close to hitting 30mbps on speedtests. but that doesn't always happen.
